This (semi) popular celebrity gossip website puts up that they’re looking for interns. The requirement doesn’t seem that bad. It actually does sound something like me or something that I would do. But this is for online media/journalism stuff. And I…..am a pre-Biology major. But still…..if you don’t already know, I spend a bajillion hours on twitter and more interested in pop culture than anything else. So this one little ad for an intern on a pop culture site just makes me re-think my whole future. Yes, I have the interest in the hollywood media, but do I have what it takes to actually get into journalism or whatever shit and help run a website? I’ve been told so many times that I should do something like that because I’m good at hearing these gossips but….is it really something I can handle trying to get my degree at it in college? All the writing, english classes, presenting (not to mention my speech/stuttering problem), and is it something I see myself doing for the rest of my life or is it simply just a hobby I like to do of researching the latest in pop culture? I’ve been set on biology or anything science since I was a kid because I actually do like learning about it and there’s so many things I can do with it. Now I don’t even know what to think. I’ll most likely just stick with Bio but for now at least I know what I’ll fall back on if it all doesn’t work out. Even though Bio is a waaaay off topic from Journalism/Mass Communications/English or whatever major/department that goes under o_O

Whoa whoa whoa. You should just try to do some small internships for journalism or try to write for the school newspaper to start off. You shouldn’t try to change your whole degree based on a small ad! But it also doesn’t hurt if you don’t try.
